About Qays.org

01_im_qclose2rc.jpgQays.org is where you'll find the websites and projects associated with Kerry Qays Arthur.

Just a bit about me: I was born in 1978 in Guyana, South America. I became Muslim in 1992 in Georgetown. After High School I left Guyana in 1997 to study religion in the Middle East. While there I took the Shadhili path in 1998 from Sheikh Nuh Ha Mim Keller.

I took a break from studies in 1999 and returned to Guyana where I got married. Unfortunately personal matters as well as the state of the country prohibited my return to the Middle East. I worked with the CIOG in the Education department from 2002 to 2007 at which point I was able to return to Jordan. Currently I reside with my family in Amman working and studying. Duas are highly appreciated.

Muslim religious sciences are of great interest to me along with language, politics, history, and technology. I'm a Free and Open Source Software person (not sure if I qualify as an 'advocate') and a believer in technology as a positive force.

All of these interests and more will be reflected in the offerings here at Qays.org. I hope it will prove beneficial to others.
